Stevie Wonder - The Secret Life Of Plants (1979)

Growing up in a home where my parents played music and danced with us around the house, I was familiar with Stevie Wonder, but it wasn’t until I started “sampling” while making music of my own that I really began to study his work and fell in love with his stuff. Since then, I’ve paced myself allowing me to discover “new” pieces of his vast discography every couple months/ years and live with it, instead of oversaturating my mind with his overwhelming musical genius and buying everything all at once.

I heard this song for the first time yesterday (it still amazes me when I hear an “old” Stevie Wonder song that I’ve never heard before). It’s a song he made about the existence of plants off of an album I had no clue existed that’s entirely dedicated to this organism.

Stevie Wonder is by far, one of my biggest inspirations.
